Hi Daljinder! Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm sure you must be so excited knowing your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is a few short days away!
I will tell you, I'm a self-proclaimed queen of packing way too much, but below are my must have items when visiting the theme parks:
MagicBand/Admission Card (take a picture of the number with your phone and save it to your favorites so you will have it if needed)
Comfortable Shoes
Photo ID
Sunscreen
Lip Balm
Sunglasses and/or Cap
Health Insurance Card (Keep it with you just in case - but I truly hope you don't need it.)
Water Bottle (Glass bottles are prohibited. I prefer the double wall insulated style. They keep my water nice and cold and don't sweat and ruin other items in my backpack.)
Rain Gear (Carry it with you if needed. I look at the weather report each day and make the call on whether or not I will carry rain gear with me.)
Cash (I usually have a little bit of cash with me, but I truly cannot think of a time I have needed it over the past few years.)
Mobile Phone (Make sure you have downloaded the
My Disney Experience Mobile App.)
Portable Cell Phone Charger
Hand Sanitizer
Small First Aid Kit with blister relief items as well as pain relief medicine (This really isn't necessary. If you are in need of over-the-counter medicine or bandages, the
First Aid centers can provide you with what you need.)
Camera (or use your mobile phone)
Autograph book and pen (if you plan to visit Characters). I recommend placing the autograph book and pen in a plastic storage bag. It will make them easier to find and will protect them if it rains.
Is all of this needed? No. Do we use everything during every visit? No. Do I still continue to drag everything with me? Yes.
When we travel bag free and I am limited to the bare essentials, I take my MagicBand, phone and photo ID. I also try to find room for lip balm and hand sanitizer.
After a day or two of lugging everything around, you will know what your must have items are. All bags are checked when you enter the theme parks so going bag free can save you time when entering the theme parks. We typically are bag free if we know we will only be at a theme park for a short time.
When reviewing the list above, I want to emphasize the water bottle. Please stay hydrated! If you don't want to carry a water bottle around, you will find water available for purchase throughout the theme parks. Also, the Quick Service dining locations provide complimentary ice water upon request.
Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let me know if you need any other information as you pack for your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
