I have a pacemaker fitted. How should I go through the park security checkpoints?

Hi there, Stephen, and welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled that you've stopped by with this great question about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Your vacation will be here in just a few short months, and you must be getting so excited! My fellow planDisney Panelists and I are here and happy to help with any Disney vacation planning questions you have as you prepare.

As you know, technology is always changing and evolving to better suit our needs. This is also the case at Walt Disney World Resort. Walt Disney himself was forward-thinking and always striving for efficient innovations in everything, especially as it relates to entertainment and travel. Security checkpoints at Walt Disney World Resort have been streamlined in recent years, and guests are now typically able to carry their bags right through the scanners, only to be pulled aside for a thorough bag check and body scan if the scanner detects certain materials.

I would recommend asking your physician for instructions about how to manage security checkpoints, not only at Walt Disney World Resort, but also at places like the airport. If it's recommended that you bypass the walk-through scanning machine in favor of the hand-held wand scanner, you can definitely request that as you pass through security at Walt Disney World Resort - just ask a nearby Cast Member who will be happy to direct you to the appropriate area. You're not alone in this situation, and the Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort have the primary goal of keeping guests safe, so don't hesitate to communicate your needs.

If you have questions about how Radio Frequency (RF) technology is used at Walt Disney World Resort, please refer to this helpful explanation. The section regarding MagicBands and pacemakers might be especially helpful to you! Additionally, it's always good to remember that there are First Aid Centers throughout Walt Disney World Resort - they're staffed with nurses and offer clean, quiet facilities for guests who need assistance.

Stephen, I hope this information helps you feel more confident and prepared as you continue the countdown to your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Please stop back by planDisney with any other vacation planning questions you have!

    TTFN! Ta ta for now!
