Welcome to
planDisney, Teresa!
Thanks for sending your question about purchasing theme park tickets for your grandchildren. My parents also spend part of the year in the Sunshine State, so I'm familiar with the ins and outs of Florida Resident eligibility. Let's dive into your inquiry!
Walt Disney World offers special
Florida Resident tickets specifically meant for those who live in or own property in Florida. All visitors ages 18 and older holding a Florida Resident ticket must present photo identification and
proof of residency before entering a theme park. If your grandchildren are minors, you can bring them to the theme parks as your guests when you travel together. Before initially using the tickets, you and your grandchildren must stop by Guest Relations, a theme park ticketing window, or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs to confirm residency and activate the tickets. When we vacation as an extended family, my parents typically secure tickets for my children, but if my parents aren't with us, I purchase standard theme park tickets.
I hope this is helpful, Teresa! While vacationing with them, you are also welcome to treat your family to a hotel stay and take advantage of special resort rates for Mickey Mouse's closest neighbors. Last year, my mother arranged a wonderful winter escape to our favorite hotel,
Disney's Beach Club Resort, for my daughter's birthday. We had a memorable multi-generational girls' getaway! My parents love exploring the Walt Disney World theme parks with their grandchildren so much that they recently became
Annual Passholders. Now, they join us for at least a few days each time we visit. I hope you have an equally magical experience! Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and have a bibbidi bobbidi beautiful day!
