Hello! I own a second home in Florida and can prove Florida residency, but I don't have a Florida ID. How am I able to purchase tickets ahead of time? The only option I can find at this time is to purchase the tickets in person.

    Hiya Robyn,

I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney again—what a fairy-tale question you’ve brought today about Florida residency! As someone who has proudly called the Sunshine State home for almost twenty years, I’m more than happy to wave my magic wand and help.

Now, let’s dive under the sea into your question. Florida Resident special offers—such as discounted tickets and Annual Passes—are reserved for Guests who can provide proof of residency. If you’re 18 or older, you can verify your residency with:

    • A valid Florida driver’s license with a Florida address
    • A valid Florida state-issued ID card with a Florida address
    • A valid Florida-based military ID
Just a small tip, only residents with one of these IDs can verify online.

But don’t worry, Robyn—since you mentioned you don’t have a Florida ID, you still have options. You can show a piece of official mail dated within the past two months with your Florida address (think utility bill, auto registration, homeowner’s insurance, or even mail from a bank or government agency), along with a matching photo ID. And yes—electronic statements are accepted so that you can pull them up right from your phone.

Here’s how the magic works: you’ll be able to purchase your Florida Resident tickets online, but before entering the parks, you’ll need to verify residency in person at a ticket window at any of the Disney World theme parks or at Guest Relations in Disney Springs. Once verified, you’ll be all set to let the magic begin!

Robyn, I hope this helps you feel ready to unlock all the perks that come with being a Florida resident—it’s like having your very own backstage pass to the Most Magical Place on Earth. If any more questions pop up while you’re planning, please feel free to stop by again.

    See ya real soon,

    Christina
