I will have my own mobility scooter. I plan on using a trunk attached to the rear. Without the trunk, it is within the size limit. With the trunk it is not. The trunk is easily remi ed and could be carried by hand. Would this be acceptable?

    Hey there, Michael!

Welcome to planDisney and congratulations on your upcoming visit. I know it is still a few months away, but now is the time to begin planning all the fine details. Start thinking about dining reservations and Lightning Lanes you plan on purchasing. Your dining reservations can be booked 60 days before your arrival, and if staying at a Disney Resort, you can buy Lightning Lane 7 days before you arrive. I know that’s a lot of numbers, but write those down and keep them in mind as you get closer to your arrival date.

Michael, I read through the property rules and found a statement about "reserving the right to not allow any bag, parcel, or other item". Without knowing the specifics of your trunk, it’s hard to give a definite answer. If the trunk is like a cooler bag or backpack where you will be storing your daily park needs, and still within park guidelines, it should be fine. Instead of carrying it, you could always rent a locker to store it in.

I also recommend calling Walt Disney World to discuss the details of your mobility scooter trunk with a Cast Member and see their recommendations. At the end of the day, the decision will be made by the security team at the park entrance. They might have you remove your trunk and either store it in your vehicle or return it to your resort room. So that is something to keep in mind if you plan on bringing it with you.

Michael, I hope this helps guide your decision on what to do about your trunk attachment. Hopefully, it is something that can come along or even be stored in a theme park locker. Either way, you’ll soon be cruising down the walkways of my favorite place, Walt Disney World

    Have fun,
