I want to make my own Micky mouse ears. Am I allowed to wear the wars I make to the park?

    Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks for your interesting question. I'm not a very crafty person, so it would never occur to me to try to make my own special Mickey ears for a visit to Walt Disney World. But what fun if you are an artsy person!

I see people wearing Disney vacation T-shirts of their own design all the time in the theme parks. And I know that sites like Pinterest and Etsy are filled with ideas for custom shirts and ears you can make or order from outside vendors. So I see no reason you can't put your creativity to use for your own design.

I would make sure your custom ears are approximately the same size as those sold by Walt Disney World and ShopDisney so that they don't create a safety issue or block the sight lines of people who might be behind you during rides or shows. And, of course, offensive language isn't allowed to be displayed.

The park rules for attire primarily address safety concerns and guests in costume. I don't see any mention of custom designs.

I hope that helps, Elizabeth. Good luck with your art project, and please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as you plan your vacation. Enjoy!
