    Can you take your own lantern photo by Rapunzel’s tower right before it gets dark, rather then wait for dusk?

    Hi, Lauren!  Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    I love the movie Tangled, and the "I See the Light" scene is my favorite part.  Something about that scene gets me all choked-up every time I watch it; those lanterns are just so beautiful!  I was so excited when Disney PhotoPass Service began to offer the opportunity to live out this magical movie moment.  Currently, on most evenings after dusk, you can find a Disney PhotoPass photographer in front of Rapunzel Tower in Magic Kingdom Park, ready to photograph guests with one of those iconic lanterns.  I have taken advantage of this Disney PhotoPass opportunity on multiple occasions, and the photos are breathtaking!

    While you are certainly welcome to snap your own photos in front of Rapunzel Tower whenever you like, the lantern prop is only available after dusk from the Disney PhotoPass photographer.  Although the lantern is not there for guests to hold earlier in the day, there are plenty of beautiful lanterns hanging all around the tower that make a gorgeous photo backdrop any time of day.
