I am an overwhelmed mom to three kiddos - ages 5-10 as I start to think about our DW trip in July. Will be our first with the kids; we really only have 1 day - maybe 2 full days to spend at parks. Where do I even begin to plan & know we are getting va

    Hi Gaye Lynn!

When helping someone plan a Walt Disney World vacation I always start with the 5 W's:

When are you going to go?
    Who is going?
    What is your budget?
Where are you going to stay?
What are you going to do when you get there?

You already have some of these answered so you have more accomplished than you thought you did. Deciding on your budget is important because this will impact your choice of resorts, dining options and ticket options.Deciding on what you are going to do when you get there will also tie into your ticket choices which will directly affect your budget.

Since you will only have 2 full days,I suggest picking just two parks to tour instead of hopping between all four parks. This will also save you the cost of adding the Park Hopper option to your tickets, without the Park Hopper you can leave and reenter the same park. My top suggestions to visit is Magic Kingdom and Epcot.  Magic Kingdom definitely has something for everyone and it is classic Disney. While Epcot is a rich learning environment that Disney cleverly disguises as fun.  If you happen to have a partial day,I suggest visiting Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios as those parks typically don't take a full day to tour.

Once you decide which parks to visit, have your children lend a hand with the planning.  I have my children pick their top three must do attractions, because it can be impossible to see and do everything.Using My Disney Experience and the My Disney Experience smartphone app, you can easily schedule your must do attractions, dining reservations, parades and even see current wait times.  It also has some handy dandy maps that will make getting around easier, plus character locations with times.

I hope this helps get you started and please visit us with any questions that you may have!

    Happy Planning!
