I am overwhelmed with the amount of port adventures for the Alaska itinerary. We are in early planning stages for a May 2025 cruise out of Vancouver. What are the fan favorites?

Ahoy there, Lauren! An Alaskan itinerary onboard Disney Cruise Line is a special one. I am excited for you. I traveled on the Disney Wonder on a 7-Night Alaskan Cruise from Vancouver last summer and had the best time. I'm happy to help you start navigating the many Port Adventure options.

Fan favorites usually involve wildlife and glacier viewing. Whale watching was a must-do for us, so we booked the Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Quest in Juneau. We saw sea lions, seals, and, of course, humpback whales. We were fortunate enough to see the whales bottleneck feeding, which doesn't always happen. We also stopped by Mendenhall Glacier to take pictures and look around the Visitor Center.

My itinerary sailed to Dawes Glacier. My sister and I had brunch at Palo while the ship sailed toward the glacier. It was a fantastic experience to take in the views while eating the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Breast! We then went outside on the deck to view the waterfalls as the ice was melting and then the beauty of Dawes Glacier.    Some Port Adventures will even take you off the ship and get you closer to the glacier, but we opted to stay on. Some sights are best seen in person, and glaciers are one of them.

If you are looking for a Port Adventure where you sit back, relax, and watch breathtaking views, riding on the White Pass Scenic Railway may be for you. There are a few options to choose from. My tween son highly recommends the World's Largest ZipRider in Icy Strait Point for some adventure.   Not all itineraries stop in Icy Strait Point, but this is definitely an experience if you like zip-lining. If you have younger ones in your traveling party, they may enjoy The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show in Ketchikan and Musher's Camp & Sled Dog Experience in Skagway.

I hope this gave you some insight on potential Port Adventures you may want to book, Lauren. Even though you have some time before your Alaskan cruise, it's never too early to start planning. My planDisney pals and I do not want you to be overwhelmed. We are here to help!

    Adventure is out there!
