Hi there, Christina!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question. As the daughter of a banker, I truly appreciate your budget-minded inquiry.
After a bit of research, I have discovered that the best available option for beginning your vacation with a surplus of funds (and magic) involves
Disney Gift Cards. These cards can be used to make a payment towards your remaining balance online, or you could stop by the front desk of your
Disney Resort hotel and ask to have it applied to your resort account upon arrival. It is important to note that you will still be required to have a traditional credit card on file, but you can have gift cards applied to your account and request that they take priority over the credit card for any purchases made with your
Disney Band to be charged to your Disney Resort hotel folio.
Because your Resort hotel is unable to refund any amount of an unused gift card balance, I suggest only applying a conservative amount to your account initially and then stopping by the front desk periodically on your way to or from the theme parks to apply more. The
My Disney Experience mobile app conveniently allows you to keep track of your charges and can help you determine how much to apply each day. As you monitor these charges, keep in mind that your final payment for the balance due will be processed upon checkout unless your stay is longer than five days, in which case the balance will be charged every 5th day.
I hope this was helpful, Christina! If you're anything like me, by the conclusion of your vacation to
The Most Magical Place on Earth, your gift cards will likely be empty but your heart will be full, so please
let me know if you have any additional questions about your upcoming vacation!
Cheers to 2024,
Lizzie
