Can we take outside food in to the theme parks in a backpacks?

    Hi Melissa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you so much for finding us hEAR and asking this great Disneyland Resort planning question!

Many people are surprised to learn that this answer is 'Yes!', guests are welcome to bring as many snacks as they'd like with them into Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and even Downtown Disney District. I have a very "selective" preschooler and I bring in all kinds of goodies for him - sometimes prepackaged snacks, sometimes a sandwich, sometimes even something from the drive through right before we park our car. I once brought an entire 12-pack of bottled water. And if you'd really like to bust out a full-meal spread, there's even a wonderful Picnic Area with convenient rentable lockers in the same space! The only prohibited food items are glass containers (with the exception of glass baby food jars) and alcohol.

Do note that all of your bags will be thoroughly searched prior to boarding the tram from the parking structure, entering the Downtown Disney District, or near the bus drop-off area along Harbor Blvd, so if you're packing for multiple people it might be better to have two smaller bags than one big one.

I hope that this helped to plan your Disney Days, Melissa, and We'll See You Real Soon!
