Is outside food allowed in the parks? For instance, if I wanted to make sandwiches and bring them for the kiddos to save money on food, would I be allowed to do that?

Hello Erika and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Delicious food and yummy eats are subjects very dear to my heart as are saving a penny or two where I can, therefore I totally understand your great question!
It truly is a super smart idea to load a backpack with a few picnic style food items such as sandwiches, snacks and perhaps some bottled water because there's nothing worse than hungry kiddos on a busy Disney day.
I'm happy to share that Guests are welcome to bring their own food items and non-alcoholic beverages into the Disney Theme Parks as long as they do not require heating and are not stored within glass containers.
For your added information and planning you may also wish to take a peek at the current Walt Disney World Resort Park Rules & Regulations
Wishing you an extra pixie dusted visit to Walt Disney World Resort where dreams and wishes really can come true.
    Have a great Disney day.
