Welcome to planDinsey, Aileen! Thanks for sharing your question with us!
While the theme parks may be the star, the Walt Disney World Resort hotels are never short on magical experiences. All of them offer amazing amenities and recreational activities, but watching a fireworks show from the top of the Contemporary Resort is an especially special experience.
The Outer Rim at Contemporary Resort is a lounge in the hotel’s Grand Canyon Concourse, and it is open to all guests. The lounge actually faces east and provides great views of Bay Lake, which means you wouldn’t be able to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from this spot.
You may be thinking of the
Top of the World Lounge at the top of Bay Lake Tower, which is right next to the Contemporary Resort. Bay Lake Tower is a Disney Vacation Club resort, and the lounge is reserved for eligible Disney Vacation Club Members and their guests. Eligible members can make reservations for complimentary fireworks viewing by calling Member Services up to 60 days in advance at (800) 800-980.
There are still ways to get a tip-top view of the fireworks even if you're not a DVC member, though.
California Grill is located on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort, and will play music and dim the lights when the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show begins. There is also
Celebration at the Top - Sip, Savor, Sparkle, a private fireworks party on the hotel’s viewing deck. Reservations are required for this event (and highly recommended for California Grill), and it’s important to remember that the fireworks schedule may be canceled due to inclement weather and is subject to change.

Magical travels!
