Do outdoor rides still operate when it’s raining and/or during thunder storms?

    Hi Josephine!

Disney places a premium on entertaining all its guests, but I can say they equally place precedence when it comes to Disney guests' safety.

In terms of inclement weather, it's all contingent on the severity of the weather, so it's hard to say whether the ride will continue to operate if a storm passes through. What I can tell you, from personal experience, is that I've been at Disney World numerous times during stormy weather. Generally, the rides will continue if there's a light rain or drizzle. Thunder and lightning storms would likely cause a delay in the attraction until the worst part of the storm has passed over. Typically, a storm threat alone will not halt rides from operating. However, Disney is always monitoring storm severity, thunder and lightning, high winds, etc. If they deem the threat to be a safety concern for its guests as well as Cast Members, they will proceed in shutting down the attraction until the threat is averted.

Hope this helps. Bright rays of sunshine from us to you at the Moms Panel! :-)
