Hi there, Simon, and welcome to planDisney!
My favorite way to capture my family’s moments while visiting our Happy Place, Walt Disney World Resort, is by using a nifty smartphone/gimbal combo. It makes it so much easier to film our goofy and magical experiences at the Disney Parks. I am more than happy to share what you need to know about bringing your DJI Osmo Mobile 6 gimbal.
I have used a DJI gimbal in the theme parks. But it’s important to know that, according to the Walt Disney World
Property Rules, “selfie sticks, hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices, flags and banners are not allowed in any theme park or water park.” Make sure that your gimbal has a way to be folded, can fit inside a standard park bag, and is no taller than 182 centimeters when not folded.
It is totally at the discretion of the security Cast Members to allow your gimbal into the theme parks. They may consider it a selfie stick. But for what it’s worth, I’ve never had any issues with my DJI device because of its folding capabilities.
AN EXTRA GEM: Don’t miss out on using the paid
Disney PhotoPass Service. This is a hassle-free way to get cool Magic Shots and iconic Walt Disney World photos taken by friendly PhotoPass photographers around the property. We even ran into a photographer on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It was such a welcomed surprise!
Simon, I hope that this helps. If you have any other questions about your upcoming holiday, please revisit us at planDisney.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
