I am in Orlando in late Aug and we are going to MNSSHP one night. I understand that we can get in the park as early as 4pm. I am going to set up fast passes for 4-6pm. My magicbands are 5+yrs old. Will they still work? If not, what other options do I have?

    Hi John,
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I'm so excited to see two things-first, you're attending my favorite special event of the year, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  Second, you've done some research, and you're ready to maximize the fun for your upcoming visit.

Truthfully, I can't say for sure whether or not your MagicBands will work once you arrive. The technology for the first generation bands isn't an issue-the battery inside your MagicBand is what might give you problems.

My suggestion is to arrive to the Magic Kingdom early and visit the friendly Cast Members at Ghost Relations (see what I did there) before your 4 pm entrance time.  Those wonderful folks can check out your MagicBand to see if it's still good. If not, they can give you a plastic ticket to use for your FastPass+ selections for your time prior to the start of the party.

Alternately, you could purchase a fun souvenir and buy another MagicBand once you arrive or you could purchase a limited edition band from the Halloween Party during your visit.

    Happy HalloWishes,
    Amy S.
