We will be going to Orlando Dec 20-24. We are only going to MK one day with our two small children. I was wondering what day is typically less crowded. This is our 3rd trip to Disney and found that MK is the place we enjoy the most.

    Hi Brayanne,

The winter holiday season is a truly magical time of year to visit Walt Disney World.  You will find the Magic Kingdom decked out it amazing decorations.  I can absolutely understand that with two small children Magic Kingdom is your favorite park!

At the time of year you are going, you can expect fairly high crowds.  Many people enjoy the magic of Walt Disney World at the holidays!  When I am looking for crowd level predictions, I visit the unofficial website touringplans.com.  For a low annual fee, you can see their predictions for crowd levels at Walt Disney World theme parks for up to a year in advance.  Their predictions confirm my instincts about the time of year you are visiting - the least crowded day at Magic Kingdom when you are there should be December 20, and the Magic Kingdom will likely steadily build crowds from then right up until Christmas Day.

Since it will likely be crowded when you are there, my number one theme park tip is to get to the theme park early - even 30 minutes ahead of the listed opening time if you can.  You will be amazed and how much less crowded the theme parks are early in the morning, allowing you to experience many attractions before the parks get more crowded mid-morning.

I hope that these thoughts help with your planning, Brayanne!  Have a wonderful time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
