I originally thought my husband would not be able to join us on vacation. We found out he is able to attend, but I already have dining reservations. Is there any way to add one person to the reservations we already have?

    Hiya Theresa,

Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the 4th of July. Nothing says Independence Day to me more than Fireworks, and Walt Disney World Resort has the absolute best ones for sure.

I’m happy to hear that your husband will be able to join you on your upcoming vacation. I’m sure it will make your vacation even more magical. Did you know that you may be able to modify your existing dining reservations using the My Disney Experience mobile app to accommodate your new Guest? Open your My Disney Experience mobile app and select the three horizontal lines in the bottom right-hand corner. Next select “Future Plans.” You should see all of your already booked reservations for your upcoming vacation. Select the reservation you would like to modify, and you should see a “pencil” icon that says “Modify.” Select the icon, and you can then add an additional member to your party, modify the date, or modify the time. It is important to know that if the dining location cannot accommodate your modification at this time, it will not allow you to change your reservation.

If you are not able to make the changes right now, another option is checking back later as you get closer to your trip, an additional person may be able to be included later on. Another suggestion is to wait until it is time to check in for your reservation to modify it. When I was at Walt Disney World Resort recently, I was given the option to add an additional Guest when I checked in via the mobile app at select dining locations and it was super easy to do so. You can also speak to a Cast Member at the podium to ask if an additional person can be added when you check-in or arrive at the Theme Parks. Again there is no guarantee that they will be able to accommodate your wish, but if you don't want to cancel your existing reservations to make new ones, it is definitely worth a shot.

Best of luck in making your reservation changes! I hope it all works out magically.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
