John from VA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I originally made reservations at the Art of Animation resort. Yesterday, I changed that to the Grand Floridan. I already have wristbands. Will they automatically change to reflect the Grand Floridian, or will that be done at check-in? Thanks.

    Hiya, John! Welcome to planDisney!

Can you believe that your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is now less than a month away? Well, hold on to your hat, John, because it is bound to be a wild ride with something fabulous to enjoy at every turn. Did you know that your visit lines up with the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival? Just wait until you try the incredible food from the many outdoor kitchens featuring cuisine from all over the globe. I definitely recommend checking out the Foodie Guide on Disney Parks Blog for a sneak peek of the festival menu.

You have incredible taste, John, because both Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are fabulous choices for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. But, I must say, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of my absolute favorite resorts, so I’m so excited for you to enjoy your stay there next month!

As for your MagicBands, as long as they are linked to your My Disney Experience account, they will already be connected to your new reservation at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. To check, log into your My Disney Experience app and navigate to “My Account” from the menu (the three stacked lines on the bottom right corner). Next, click on “MagicBands & Cards” to see all of your connected MagicBands listed here with their ID number, which you will find on the back of your MagicBands. Worry not if you don’t see your MagicBands here; it’s super simple to get them linked up! Simply follow the steps above to get to the “MagicBands and Cards” page. From there, click on “Link MagicBand or Card” and follow the prompts to complete the link.

Of course, if you have any trouble with this, you can absolutely head over to the Front Desk at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and they will be happy to check that your MagicBands are linked up correctly.

While I have you, John, have you heard about the super convenient Direct-To-Room-Service available in the My Disney Experience app? This completely complimentary service allows you to skip the check-in counter and go directly to your room as soon as ready. All you need to do is make sure your hotel reservation is linked in the My Disney Experience app, then complete the Online Check-In process before your arrival. Then, on your scheduled check-in date, you will get real-time updates on the status of your room and will be notified as soon as it is ready for you! Once your room is ready, you can view your room number and even unlock the door all from your My Disney Experience app! Isn’t that awesome? I’ve used this service in the past, making it so easy to check in and set off on your magical adventure!

You are visiting Walt Disney World Resort during such an amazing time, John! I am so excited for you and will be here to answer any other questions you have.

    Until next time,
    Diana
