    Will the original magic bands work in the California parks? I see that there is a new magic band (magic band+) coming to the California Disneyland park, but will the original ones work too?

    Hi there, Shayna! Welcome to planDisney!

    We are all VERY excited for the new MagicBand+ to arrive at the Disneyland Resort. While we don't have an exact date on when we can expect them, we have been assured it will be sometime this year! With that, we also do not have much information quite yet on how they will work, the benefits they will provide, or if the original MagicBands will work as well. A lot of Guests are speculating that they may work at both the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort, but the truth is we don't know quite yet! Trust me, we are all waiting on pins and pixie dust over here too!

    The best advice I can give you at this moment is to be up to date on the Disney Parks Blog and follow the @DISNEYLAND Instagram account. This is where the latest and greatest news drops first. It's sure to be a big announcement, so if you've got your ears and eyes peeled, you will not miss it! 

    While we wait, I highly recommend taking a listen to the planDisney Podcast! My fellow panelists are giving out their best tips and insider information on all sorts of topics from Resorts to Nighttime Spectaculars to all the things to do in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. There's even an episode that was filmed inside the Haunted Mansion discussing the tricks and treats for the upcoming Halloween season!
