Hi there, Sheila - welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for swimming by with your question for our team of panelists! We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical,
Disney Cruise Line vacations.
I was so excited when Disney Cruise Line announced the availability of
DisneyBand+ functionality on some select sailings starting this year. Whether it's boarding, accessing your Stateroom, or making purchases on board, these little pieces of magic will make experiences more seamless.
Sheila, DisneyBand+ functionality is unique to Disney Cruise Line ships but uses the same Disney
MagicBand+ technology Guests use at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. If you have a MagicBand+ from a recent visit to the Theme Parks, you can use that as a DisneyBand+ on your Disney cruise! Older versions of MagicBand are
not compatible but do continue to have functionality at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.
If you need to order a DisneyBand+, you can save a bit by making that purchase through the Disney Cruise Line website between 11 and 45 days before your sail date. If you'd like a broader selection to choose from, you could also purchase a MagicBand+ at a Disney Theme Park or
online at shopDisney, but keep in mind that these won't be eligible for the pre-sailing discounted pricing - that's only available by purchasing DisneyBand+ through your upcoming cruise reservation.
I hope this information is helpful, Sheila - stop by any time with more questions!
