When ordering Magic Bands through My Disney Experience in advance of a resort stay, how can I use my DVC discount?

Hi there, Heather! Welcome Home - and welcome to planDisney! I see that you're making preparations for a magical trip next month, and I'm always happy to help out a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member. Let's talk MagicBand+

There's a rotating assortment of deals and discounts available for DVC Members, and I like to spend some time perusing the Member Benefits section of the website anytime we're planning a Disney adventure to make sure that we don't miss a thing. I chatted with Member Services to inquire about a discount for MagicBands ordered through My Disney Experience, and unfortunately this discount is no longer valid.

If you wait to purchase your MagicBands until you arrive, you can apply your Member merchandise discount and save some money that way. World of Disney at Disney Springs usually has an excellent selection!

If you are traveling to Walt Disney World Resort, you can use Disney MagicMobile service in place of MagicBands. We first tried this a couple of years ago when we were in Orlando and unexpectedly had a free day to visit the theme parks, and I've never gone back!

MagicMobile allows you to use your phone for park entry, check-ins for Lightning Lanes, Disney PhotoPass, and purchasing merchandise and food. You can set up your pass before you arrive, and also set up passes for anyone you manage in your My Disney Experience account. Now that my kids are older and have their own phones, everyone in our family simply uses their own device.

Because this does require me to use my phone more frequently, I always make sure I have a portable charger in my park bag. There are many locations throughout Walt Disney World to swap for a fully-charged one and keep the magic going.

Heather, I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes! If you have any additional questions about your May trip that our planDisney crew can help out with, please come see us again.

    Stay Magical!
