Welcome to planDisney, Julie. Thanks for bringing your question to our magical little corner of the internet!
While
theme park tickets to the
Walt Disney World Resort are
nonrefundable and nontransferable, you
are usually able to apply the amount you paid for a theme park ticket to a new ticket. Sometimes, you're able to do this through
My Disney Experience, but if not,
you can always call a friendly Cast Member at the resort to help you out. Just note that either way, you will be responsible for the difference in cost when you make the change.
To discover if you're able to do this through My Disney Experience, follow these simple steps:
1. Log into your MyDisney account and select "
My Plans" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu.
2. Scroll down and click on "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" under the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" heading.
3. Select "Change Ticket" next to the ticket you would like to change.
4. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
While I know you can't make
this trip, I hope in the future you're able to accompany your grandchildren to the resort. There are so many exciting experiences that the whole family can enjoy, which is what makes the Walt Disney World Resort the Most Magical Place on Earth. I'll be taking my niece and nephew next July, and I cannot wait to experience all the new and classic attractions and entertainment offerings with them. I'm crossing my fingers that
the new villains show at Disney's Hollywood Studios and
the new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom Park will be available when we go!
Julie,
reach out again with any other questions.
Think happy thoughts,
Matt
