Hi Kathy! Welcome back to planDisney. It's so nice to see you here again.
Oh my goodness, I am so excited for your grand return to the Walt Disney World Resort after a 20-year break. The magic is calling! Did you know that this year we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort with
The World's Most Magical Celebration? There are decorations, treats, and special experiences throughout the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs in honor of the occasion, and I know you are going to be just amazed by all the things that have changed, and charmed by all the classic magic that remains. I'm so excited for you!
Woody's Lunch Box is a must-do for me when I'm visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios. I dream about their Totchos and Lunch Box Tarts between visits! Yes, I'm happy to confirm that there is outdoor seating at this Quick-Service dining location, and most tables are covered with umbrellas for shade. When I visited in July, a Cast Member was stationed at the entrance and only allowing Guests with Mobile Orders to enter; this worked very well, because it meant that tables were easy to get. (If you're not able to Mobile Order, don't worry - just let the Cast Member know you would like to order in person and they will assist you.) Be sure to really look around when you're at Woody's Lunch Box and in
Toy Story Land, where you've been shrunken to the size of a toy. Look for Andy's footprints in the ground and all the fun details as you get a toy's-eye view of the world!
If you haven't heard about
Mobile Order Dining, it's one of the best new technologies, allowing you to order your meal in the
My Disney Experience mobile app right from your phone. You can order in advance and select the time you'd like to pick up your food - then just tap "I'm here" when you arrive and you'll get a notification when you can approach the pick-up window to grab your food.
Kathy, I hope you have the best time during your stay later this year! Please come back and see your pals here at planDisney if we can help with any further questions. I also recommend reading the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news - once the
holiday season gets underway, they'll share stories about festive experiences and tasty treats to make your visit even more merry and magical. Enjoy it all!
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
