Hi there, Allison. Thanks for reaching out to us here at planDisney!
Since it sounds like you currently have a room-only reservation at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you would likely need to
call a friendly Cast Member at the resort to see if they can change your reservation to a vacation package. To take advantage of the perk of paying a deposit and having until 30 days before the start of your vacation to pay the rest, you must have a vacation package booked initially, which at a minimum includes a hotel room and
theme park tickets. While you
could likely take care of this online by canceling your current reservation and then booking a package, it might be better to let a Cast Member help you out!
I see that you'll be traveling to the
Walt Disney World Resort during the
holiday season. I did this for the first time a few years ago and I'm so excited to be going back again this year. And while I always make it a point to visit
Disney's Days of Christmas in
Disney Springs and
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in
Magic Kingdom Park to get a whiff of the Christmas scents and a jolt of the holiday spirit, sometimes it's just not enough. Walking into each park when they are decorated for the season brings a feeling I just can't describe. Nostalgia mixed with joy mixed with hope is the only thing that comes close to capturing in words how it makes me feel. Allison, I hope you enjoy each and every moment of your magical holiday visit.
If you have any other questions,
I'm here for you.
Don't just fly, soar,
Matt
