Hi Andrea!
Welcome home to planDisney! It's always exciting to be counting down to your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation and we're happy to help you prepare for your next adventure!
Andrea,
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside holds so many wonderful memories for me! One of my favorite spots is
Ol' Man Island which is home to over 3 acres of swimming and water fun. My husband and I spent a relaxing afternoon lounging and playing on the waterslide here - just like we were kids! You'll also find fishing, campfires, and a pool bar located on Ol' Man Island which makes this the perfect refuge after busy days in the theme parks.
When you're ready to head to the parks, guests at Port Orleans - Riverside have access to Disney's
bus transportation. Throughout the resort, you'll find four bus stops. I chatted with a friendly Cast Member this morning who confirmed that the current bus route runs clockwise around the resort beginning at the Main Building and then moving to the West Depot, North Depot, and finally the East Depot. Morning buses start running about 45 minutes before the theme parks open and run approximately every 20 minutes. Did you know that from the
My Disney Experience Mobile App, you can monitor approximate arrival times for bus transportation? In the app, you can select your resort and then click "See Bus Times" to find this information.
During your stay, I hope you have a chance to hop on a
Sassagoula River Cruise over to
Disney Springs! The boat ride itself is a relaxing and charming experience, but once there, you have access to dozens of dining locations, retail shops, and entertainment options. I always enjoy a meal at
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' and grabbing an ice cream from
Salt & Straw!
Marie, I hope you have a wonderful stay at Port Orleans - Riverside and enjoy everything you have planned during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Please stop by to say "hi" again if you have any other questions we can help with in the future!
See ya real soon!
