In order to have the meal plan, do we have to purchase park tickets for the same amount of days? We are only staying two nights, but wanted to do the meal plan for the two nights with only a one day pass.

Hello, Rachael!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

First, in order to request the Disney Dining Plan you must be a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort. The DDP is based on the number of nights of your stay at your WDW Resort.  For example,  if you are checking in on a Sunday and checking out on a Tuesday, you are looking at two days worth of dining credits. As long as you book a one day base ticket, you will be able to add the DDP based on your number of nights, which will be two nights for you.  Looks like you are good to go!

Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel.  Please join us again real soon should any new questions pop-up.  We are always ready to help our guests plan the most MAGICAL vacation ever!

~Have a MAGICAL day and "SEE YOU REAL SOON"!~
