Hi! I order Magic Bands super early to surprise my kids, but I am still not seeing a tracking number and when I check in My Disney Experience, it has said “In Progress” since I ordered them over a week ago. When can I expect to get a tracking number?

Hiya Amy - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by with your question about your MagicBand order. The launch of the brand new MagicBand+ a couple of months ago has generated a lot of buzz, and a lot of orders! Due to this expansion of the MagicBand product line, and some supply chain limitations, availability and shipping times haven't been similar to previous years, and are also a bit less predictable.

I placed a MagicBand+ order when they first launched and am happy to share my experience with you. I placed my pre-arrival order about three weeks before my planned arrival at Walt Disney World Resort. My order's status changed to "Shipped" a little over a week before my planned arrival and I received my little box of magic just three days after the status changed. For me, the USPS tracking information and status weren't actually updated during those three days. While I did receive a tracking number the day my order status changed, the next update I received was my daily USPS email which noted that I was receiving the package.

I notice that you're writing from Hawaii, so shipping and tracking could be a different experience for you, and you may have more detailed tracking information if a different carrier is used. That being said, most friends that I've talked to have also reported quick receipt of their shipment once the status changes from "In Progress" to "Shipped"! Given the surge in demand, my guess is that Disney is continuing to prioritize orders for Guests with trips coming up in the next few weeks to ensure everyone receives their ship-to-home MagicBands before they head out for their Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

Please let me know if additional questions pop up as you continue planning for your adventure to the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration, Amy!
