Can I order magic bands to be ready at our resort before our stay or do I have to buy when we arrive? Also, any specific recommendations for port Orleans French quarter! So excited x

Hi there Harriet, Welcome back to planDisney! Your trip to Walt Disney World Resort will be here before you know it! MagicBands are one of my favorite accessories while at Disney as it offers such a convenience! They can be used to open your resort room door, PhotoPass and most importantly, enter the parks!

Harriet, as you know, international guests are not able to order MagicBands for pre-arrival through the Walt Disney World Resort website. You will have the option to purchase MagicBands once you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort. They're available for purchase at most retail locations within the theme parks, at the Disney Resort hotels, and at Disney Springs! The bands can be easily linked to your itinerary through your My Disney Experience account after purchase. Once the bands are linked they are ready for immediate use.

Currently, guests staying at a Disney resort can order MagicBands on DisneyStore.com prior to their arrival and have them shipped to their resort. If you place an order, please ensure you enter the delivery address as Your Name and GUEST arriving - insert your arrival date - then add the resort name and the address. On arrival, let the Cast Member at the front desk know that you should have a package waiting for you. I would suggest placing your order around 10 days prior to arrival to ensure the package is delivered on time. It should be noted that you will be charged a Resort fee of around $6.00 USD (subject to change) for any package received for you by the Front Desk.

I want you to know that you have several options to access the magic on your upcoming visit! I highly recommend downloading the My Disney Experience mobile app once you arrive stateside, and setting up Disney MagicMobile Service. This service function also allows Guests to enter the theme parks (with valid theme park admission and reservations), link Disney PhotoPass images to their Disney accounts, and charge purchases to their Disney Resort hotel. If you'd prefer to have a physical card linked to your account for use during your visit, simply visit a Guest Relations location for assistance.

Port Orleans French Quarter is a charming, New Orleans-inspired resort at Disney World, known for its compact size, picturesque cobblestone streets, and beautiful landscaping! Take a leisurely stroll around the resort to appreciate the vibrant Mardi Gras-themed decorations, wrought-iron balconies, and gas lamps. The resort's smaller size makes it easy to navigate, and you’ll find plenty of quiet spots to relax.

Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is one of my favorite food locations at Disney World! You'll enjoy classic New Orleans cuisine like beignets, gumbo, and jambalaya at the food court. The beignets are a must try and are especially popular for breakfast or a sweet snack. If you’re up for a short walk, head over to Port Orleans Riverside, the sister resort, for additional dining options, a larger pool area, and the chance to catch the Yehaa Bob Jackson show; a lively, family-friendly piano performance.

I hope this information helps you prepare for an exciting visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Harriet! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. We'll see ya real soon!
