Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Denise!
As a mom with two mouseketeers that have a wide age gap, I'm a frequent
Rider Switch user. I absolutely love the flexibility this service provides my family, so we can all enjoy the attractions we wish to!
Denise, when using Rider Switch, you don't have to have
FastPass+. You can certainly pair Rider Switch with FastPass+, saving you precious theme park touring time. But can also take advantage of Rider Switch without having FastPass+.
When you have a FastPass+ for the attraction you wish to use Rider Switch on, both guests taking turns will be able to use the FP+ queue for the attraction. Without FastPass+, the first guest enjoying the attraction will use the stand-by queue where the cast member at the entrance of the attraction will provide a lanyard that they will exchange before boarding the attraction for a paper FastPass+ good for up to three guests.
When I plan my FastPass+, I take into consideration which attractions my youngest is still too young or not tall enough for yet and book my FP+ accordingly. Usually getting my husband and oldest some FP+ for the more thrilling attractions and during that same time window, I will go
enjoy some other attractions with my little one. Do make sure you plan on walking up to the attraction that you will need that Rider Switch together, so the Cast Member can see your little one.
I hope this helps you as you plan an adventure filled day at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back and see us again with any additional questions!
See ya real soon,
Emille
