Can I order food &/or drinks from the pool bar of a resort I'm not staying at? Can we eat that by the pool? We don't want to use the pool or anything, just like what that bar serves.

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Brandie. I'm so glad you've dropped by with your question.

Brandie, I am a big fan of bars and lounges around Walt Disney World. They offer unique menus without having to grab an advanced dining reservation. I think you'll be happy to know that you are able to enjoy the offerings at pool bars around the Walt Disney World Resort without actually being a Guest at that particular hotel. Pool bars will have their own dedicated seating areas that you are welcome to relax at while you dine. Pool bars are actually located outside of the actual pool gates for all Guests to enjoy because the pool area is strictly reserved for resort hotel Guests. So you won't be able to necessarily sit right beside the pool and eat but you can enjoy the pool bar area itself.

One of my favorite pool bars at Walt Disney World happens to be Banana Cabana at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. There are swinging chairs to relax on and calypso music playing overhead. It truly feels like you've been transported to the tropical islands. On the menu, you'll find lots of Caribbean-inspired flavors like jerk chicken and Cuban-style sandwiches. The chili con queso is also fantastic!

While it is not a pool bar per se, I also really love relaxing and dining at Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This is a lounge area near the pool that does not require advanced dining reservations. There are several couch areas around the lake to dine at that I really enjoy as well as seating around the bar and traditional style tables. The food is really delicious. My favorite menu items are the cheesy barbecue brisket with housemade chips and the roasted salmon but everything I've had there is really great. If you love spicy cocktails, the bartenders there make a great spicy margarita that is not on the menu. I love taking a midday break from Magic Kingdom Park to head over to Geyser Point Bar & Grill to enjoy.

I hope you are able to enjoy a few fun bars and lounges while you are at Walt Disney World later this year, Brandie. If you have any other questions while you finalize your plans, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help!

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
