Hi I order a Disney redemption card and didn’t realize how long it takes to arrive so I won’t have it for my trip can I pick one up at guest services and transfer the balance?

    Hi there, Leticia,

I’m a Disney Visa cardholder too. I am always looking for new ways to use my cardholder benefits to save on Disney Parks vacations and enjoy special perks.

To redeem Disney Rewards Dollars earned by making purchases using your Disney Visa card, you must request a Disney Rewards Redemption Card on the My Disney Rewards site. After requesting a Disney Rewards Redemption Card, you will want to allow for 2-3 weeks for delivery. I’ve been told by a representative with Disney Visa that it takes at least 8 business days for the card to arrive in the mail.

According to the Disney Rewards website, there are three places where you may be able to pick up a Disney Rewards Redemption Card at the Disneyland Resort. In Disneyland Park, you can stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. In Disney California Adventure Park, visit the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street. Outside of the parks, you may visit the Guest Relations located right outside the entrance to Disney California Adventure Park.

Whether you receive your Redemption Card via the mail or in person at the Disneyland Resort, you must activate the card in order to transfer Disney Rewards Dollars to it and begin using it for purchases. For a Redemption Card picked up on-site, you may need to call the Disney Visa Card Services phone number listed on the back of your Disney Visa card to activate your Redemption Card. You will need your Disney Visa card to access the phone system. Then, you will need the 16-digit number from the new Redemption Card as well.

If your Redemption Card doesn’t arrive in time for your upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation and you are unable to obtain a Redemption Card on-site, I hope you’ll have other opportunities to make use of your Disney Rewards Dollars. We plan to use our Rewards Dollars to pay for our Disney Vacation Club membership dues. And we have used them for purchases through shopDisney. If you purchase airline tickets, you may also apply Disney Rewards Dollars toward a statement credit for that airfare purchase. Be sure to check the Disney Rewards Dollars terms and conditions for more information.

Tony’s Tip: Be sure to take advantage of the ways you can use Disney Rewards Dollars to make purchases in the Disneyland mobile app. Both mobile food and beverage orders and Merchandise Mobile Checkout accept a Disney Redemption Card as a form of full or partial payment. And you may wish to use your Redemption Card to purchase the Disney Genie+ service if you haven’t already and to reserve a return time at attractions with individual Lightning Lanes not included with Genie+.

I hope things go well with your Disney Rewards Dollars plans, Leticia. And may you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort.

    ~Tony
