How do I order a custom birthday cake to be eaten after dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen?

    Hi there, Leah!

Welcome to planDisney. A birthday celebration at the Happiest Place on Earth is the one of the most magical ways to ring in a new year. You're going to love Goofy's Kitchen from the festive setting, the all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet, and of course, the hugs from some of your favorite pals. Truly, so much fun for the young and young at heart!

There are no "very merry unbirthdays" around here, and making birthday celebrations extra special has gotten even easier. When you are making your dining reservation at Goofy's Kitchen, you can add a Mickey Celebration Cake as part of the process! Once you select your party size, date, and time, you will see the option to "Add On" the cake. You can choose between chocolate and white chocolate and a special message - either "Happy Birthday" or "Congratulations"! They feed 4-6 Guests and even the ears are edible. I have had one of these cakes, and let me tell you they are as delicious as they are adorable.

If you have already made your reservation or if you're celebrating on a whim, you can also ask the host upon arrival if there are Mickey Celebration Cakes available that day. They are subject to availability in this instance, but I was happy to hear that this was an option as well. Since Goofy's Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you could pop over as soon as it opens to ask about reserving a cake for later. I spoke with a Cast Member, and unfortunately, Guests are unable to modify an existing reservation to add the cake if you did not select it when initially making the reservation. If you are in this boat and don't want to take a chance on same-day availability, you could try to make a new reservation. Before canceling your existing reservation, I would check for availability just in case reservations are hard to come by that day. It looks like you are visiting over President's Day weekend, which can be a busy time in the parks.

As soon as you step foot on property, be sure to grab a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button, available at most retail locations, including at the Disneyland Hotel. Not only will the birthday Guest be showered with well wishes, sometimes extra pixie dust might follow.

I hope this was helpful, Leah! If you have any more questions in your planning, please come back to see us at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
