I would like to order a celebration cake but need it to be dairy-free. How would I order that to have when we eat at Olivia's on May 23, 2022

Hiya Lynne - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks so much for stopping by with your question about the most important of topics - CAKE! I'm actually sitting here finishing up a cupcake as we speak, so I think I'm in the right headspace to answer your question!

The good news is that there are a few different options for you to consider for your celebration! You may want to first connect with the Walt Disney World Special Diets team via email or by calling 407-824-1391. These specially trained Cast Members are well-versed in ALL things food and will be able to provide the most updated information on availability for dairy-free dining options across Walt Disney World Resort, including those that can be provided at Olivia's Cafe. Things are always changing, and there might be some new options in May!

Another fantastic option, if you're more flexible on the cake's design, is to contact Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, a Gluten-Free, Vegan & Kosher Bakery located at Disney Springs. They offer custom cakes of all kinds, including dairy-free options, and when available, offer delivery to many table-service restaurants across the Walt Disney World Resort.

If your heart is set on a Mickey Mouse Celebration cake, I recommend reaching out to two different contacts. First, I would send an email to the team at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I did this recently and was able to have a custom vegan cake delivered for a dinner we were hosting at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. At that time, the Grand Floridian team was handling most specialty cake requests, but after speaking to two different Cast Members today, I haven't been able to confirm that this is still the case. You can also try contacting the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253, but I had some difficulty getting through to this number, so your mileage may vary. For this reason, given that your dairy-free cake will be special, I think your best bet outside of using Erin McKenna's is to start with the Special Diets team - in my experience they've been very responsive and informative!

I hope this information is helpful in getting your cake dreams fulfilled! Keep in mind that most custom cake options do require advanced ordering, so this is something you'll want to try and take care of before your arrival.

Have a magical celebration trip, and please let me know if there are any other questions that come up as you continue planning!
