In order to apply for DAS, do I need to get documentation from my daughter's specialist? Does she have to be present on the video call?

    Hi there, Cindy,

I'm happy to share some of my family's experiences with the Disneyland Resort Disability Access Service to help you make the most of your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth!

Eligibility for the Disability Access Service is determined by an interview with a specially-trained Cast Member. Documentation such as a note or letter from a medical provider is not required or accepted during the interview process. Yes, the Guest requesting DAS registration is required to be present during the interview.

A DAS registration interview may be requested online up to 60 days before a visit to the Disneyland Resort theme parks. Online interviews are done via video chat to allow the interviewing Cast Member to interact with the Guest applying for DAS as well as their parent or guardian, if applicable. Interviews may also be requested on-site at the Accessibility Services Kiosk located on the east side of the Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Tony's Tip: To help save time during your visit, I highly recommend requesting a video chat interview to register for DAS in advance. Cast Members are available daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Depending on the day and time, wait times for video chat interviews may be a few hours. So I recommend making accommodations for the Guest registering, such as an appropriate activity to help them wait patiently.

The Disneyland Resort Disability Access Service (DAS) has been a great blessing for my family. It has helped to make the theme parks accessible to us to allow us to focus on making magical memories instead of worrying about the possibility of a disability-related issue interrupting our visit in situations where we might not have had access to resources and spaces to deal with things better.

Thanks for your question, Cindy. If we can help in other ways as you prepare for your visit to the Disneyland Resort, I hope you'll visit us again soon here at planDisney.

    ~Tony
