Hi Larry,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you plan to use one of the delicious
Disney dining plans!
There are so many snack possibilities at the Walt Disney World Resort, I cannot list them all here, but I can give you an idea of the options. Typically a snack is a single-serving treat. We have enjoyed smoothies, ice cream, frozen lemonade, fruit, popcorn, pretzels and beverages for snacks. But there are a multitude of options at restaurants that accept the Disney dining plans.
Although you are certainly choose the kinds of snacks you would prefer, I will say that we rarely use our snack credits for regular drinks like bottled water. We take our own water bottles in the parks and get free cups of ice water from various restaurants. We use that water to refill our water bottles.
Remember that dining plan credits are calculated per night of stay. If you are staying for six nights on the Disney Dining Plan, for example, each guest in your party 3-years old and over would have 12 snack credits and 12 meal credits (6 quick-service and 6 table-service). We love that we can use our snack credits in whatever order we choose. We rarely use any snack credits on the first days we arrive and depart.
We also look for ways to maximize our snack options. We take advantage of the free mini cupcakes that several restaurants offer when guests are celebrating birthdays. And, in Epcot, we always spend some quality time in Club Cool where we can sample flavors of Coca-Cola from around the world.
Larry, I trust you will enjoy many terrific dining options while using a Disney dining plan!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
