Hiya Emily,
Welcome to planDisney! The
Disney Skyliner is one of my favorite modes of transportation at Walt Disney World Resort. I know how important routine maintenance is, but I always get a little sad when it is closed for refurbishment.
Luckily, Emily, you do have other options for traveling between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios outside of the Skyliner. As you mentioned, you can take a
bus from EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, but you can also take a
FriendShip boat! The dock is close to the Skyliner depot, and the ride typically takes around 30 minutes. I’ve always really loved the views on the ride, but I do want to note that the boat makes several stops along the way to the EPCOT-area resorts before arriving at the theme parks. Now I do have one other mode of transportation to share with you. I’m a mom of two, so I always travel with a double stroller, so I try to avoid having to collapse my stroller to hop on the bus. My favorite alternative is the walking path between the two theme parks. The walk is about 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace, and it is pretty peaceful, so my littles tend to fall asleep during it. If you want to use the walking path, you just keep walking past the Skyliner depot and follow along the water until you get to the
Disney BoardWalk. Then from there you proceed to the theme parks.
I hope this was helpful, Emily. Before I let you go, have you seen the
foodie guide for
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts? It was recently released on Disney Parks Blog, and it all looks incredible. I’m not sure what your vacation itinerary includes, but I hope the festival is on it. If you want to chat about the Festival of the Arts or have any other questions, please come back and see us. We would be happy to help.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
