Hi, Patricia!
I am happy to hear that you are planning ahead for your dining. The earlier you start planning, the better!
When you have a specific restaurant in mind, especially one that might be hard to get (Cinderella's Royal Table or Chef Mickey's) it is important to book as early as possible. Mark your calendar for exactly 180 days from your arrival to begin the booking process.
If you cannot get the reservation you desire, try a few options such as a different day or changing from lunch to dinner. Sometimes a small shift can make all the difference. If all the dates and times are filled, keep checking. There will be cancellations, so jump on them when there is an opening!
Even check "day-of" for a table. You will be surprised how many guests have a change of plans and a table becomes available. You can also try to walk up to the restaurant podium to see if they can accommodate you. I will be honest, I have never had luck going this route as a walk-up, but others have had success, so give it a try.
Finally, remember that there are over 125 full service restaurants on Walt Disney World property, so hopefully you can find something that your family will enjoy. Try something similar, if needed. For example, try
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall if you cannot get Cinderella's Royal Table. Can't get Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater? Then try
50's Prime Time Café. By trying a new location, you just might find a new family favorite!
Wishing you the best of luck with your
dining reservations!
Cathy
