What are the options to change a ‘quick serve dining plan’ to a ‘dining plan’? What are the costs associated with this?

Hi Steven and welcome to planDisney.

Thanks for stopping by with your question. It always makes me super happy to be able to help a fellow Brit with the planning of a visit to my favourite holiday destination - Walt Disney World!

My family are big fans of using a Dining Plan because having one really helps us to budget for our trips, knowing that the vast majority of our food and drink is paid for in advance. They are also really convenient to use, throughout our stay.

Top Tip - Be sure to take advantage of Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering when redeeming your Quick-Service meals. This is so easy to do and means that you will spend less time waiting in line for food during your visit - what's not to like?

Going back to your question, Steven, you do have the option to upgrade from the Quick-Service Dining Plan to the Disney Dining Plan at the time of booking a Hotel + Ticket package directly with the Walt Disney Travel Company, via the UK version of the Walt Disney World website.

If you have already made a Hotel + Ticket package booking, you should be able to upgrade this at any point after booking, so long as it is at least 7-days before your arrival, by contacting their Disney Experts on 0800 169 0730.

Their opening hours are as follows:-
    Monday - Friday 9am-8pm
    Saturday 9am-7pm
    Sunday 10am-6pm

Prices are always subject to change but, to give you an idea, if I do a dummy booking on their website for a Hotel + Ticket package, with an arrival date of 18th December 2025, it would cost £48.99 per adult & £19.99 per child, per night, to add the Quick-Service Dining Plan compared with £78.99 per adult & £24.99 per child, per night, to add the Disney Dining Plan.

The difference in price, between the two, is what you can expect to pay to upgrade from one, to another although, the exact amount can only be confirmed by contacting them directly.

If your existing booking was made via an alternative Travel Agent, you will need to contact them directly to ask the question. You should be able to find their contact information on your booking confirmation.

I hope that this has answered your question. Please feel free to re-visit us, here at planDisney, if we can be of any further help with the planning of your trip.

Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
