I have the option to stay at either Sago Cay or Conch Key since my favorite, Sugar Loaf, will be closed for renovations. Do you have any opinion on one vs. the other? Thank you.

Hi Patricia! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is my family’s favorite resort! We definitely call it our “Disney home.”

Here’s the great news…you can’t go wrong with either Sago Cay or Conch Key! My family usually stays at Sago Cay. We love the proximity to Gasparilla Island Grill. We eat there most during our vacation. The outdoor dining area at the marina, just outside Gasparilla Island Grill, is also a great viewing area for Happily Ever After. They even play the soundtrack to be timed with the show (awesome!). Sago Cay is also close to the walking path to Magic Kingdom Park which we use frequently. The only “downside” to Sago Cay is that it is somewhat removed from pools and the Monorail.

The big benefit of Conch Key is that it is close to the boat dock for catching the boat to Magic Kingdom Park or returning from Magic Kingdom Park. It's nice not to have a far walk back to your room at the end of the day. It is also very close to Narcoossee’s which has some of the best food at the entire resort. This part of the resort is also a little closer to the pools.

So, Patricia, you’re going to have a great stay at either location, but my family’s favorite is Sago Cay!

    Dreams do come true!
