There use to be an option to make payments into a account online to pay for the trip using that money. Is this still in effect?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Julie!

Julie, I know just the program you're referring to as my family and I too used the Disney Vacation Account. Julie, I'm sorry to report that this savings program was discontinued a few years ago leaving me counting my coins like Uncle Scrooge McDuck!

While this program is no longer an option, I do have a suggestion that has been working well for my family as we continue to save and plan ahead for our Walt Disney World Resort trips! In the months (and sometimes years) leading up to our vacation, we try to regularly purchase Disney Gift Cards. These can be used to pay for vacation packages, tickets, meals all around the Walt Disney World Resort and (of course) merchandise! Julie, we typically consolidate our cards so that we only need to carry two or three and once you have created an online account, you are able to check your balance online.

Julie, while likely this isn't the answer you were banking on, I do hope this suggestion makes an impact on your bottom line. I will be hoping that whenever you next visit the Walt Disney World Resort it's a trip that is rich in Magic, wonder and delight.

Please come back and see us with any additional questions you might have!

Greetings from central Pennsylvania! Hi, I’m Lauren and I can’t wait to answer all of your Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort questions. My husband and I became Disney Vacation Club Members because we love visiting the Disney Parks and with hectic day-to-day schedules, wanted to prioritize time away for our family. The options at the Walt Disney World Resort make each trip unique and I am excited to help other families build vacations with those unforgettable moments.
