Hi, Robert! It sounds like you’re ready to hit the training center with Hercules and Phil! Our family easily racks up 17,000-21,000 steps a day when vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort, but if that cardio isn’t quite enough for you, there are a few other options to stay fit.
While you’re correct that there isn’t a gym at
Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter, both Resorts have beautiful pools if you care to catch a few laps. There are also beautiful, well marked, walking and jogging trails at Port Orleans Riverside with gorgeous scenery along the Sassagoula River on the paved, mile-long path. Perhaps pumping and pedaling the Surrey Bikes around property will get your blood flowing? I sure to love to tinkle the bike bell and haul my family along the sidewalks. Should you absolutely need to lift weights, please know that only guests of each particular Resort and hotel can use those facilities. If you end up staying at a different Resort in the future, the following Resorts have fabulous gyms!
Animal Kingdom Lodge – Zahanati Fitness Center
Boardwalk – Muscles & Bustles Health Club
Coronado Springs Resort – La Vida Fitness Center
Contemporary Resort – Olympiad Fitness Center
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa – Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa & Health Club
Old Key West Resort – R.E.S.T. Exercise Room
Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa – Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Fitness Center
Wilderness Lodge and Villas – Sturdy Branches Health Club
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club and Villas – Ship Shape Health Club
I hope you get a great workout on your magical vacation, and just like Hercules, I know you can “go the distance!” ~Lindsey P.
