What is the optimum number of days in each of the non-water Disney Parks?

    Jason:

The answer depends on who you ask and also who's in your party, but in general, here are my thoughts:
    • Magic Kingdom: Can be done in a day if you're at rope drop and willing to put up with cranky kids for the night parade while giving them Cokes so they can stay up to see the fireworks! My vote, however, is to always head back to the room after lunch and rest--regardless of whether you're 4 or 40. And if you take that break, you simply can't do the park without skipping some of the venues that make it unique like Carousel of Progress. Answer: Minimum of 2 days.
    • Epcot: Can be done in a day (see cranky kids comment above), but add to that blisters, shin-splints and no time to shop in the World Showcase. Many with kids skip Epcot or just hit its highlights but consider approaching the park as a Children's Museum on steroids--and really engage yourself in under-appreciated attractions like those in the Innoventions buildings or at the end of Spaceship Earth and you'll need 3 days! Answer: Budget 2 days minimum.
    • Hollywood Studios: Like the first two, it can be done in a day, but you may have to sacrifice a show like Indiana Jones or Lights, Motor, Action. A day that includes Fantasmic will also bring a larger crowd which equals longer lines. However, it is the smallest of the parks and can be traversed rather quickly. Answer: one day minimum, but if you can come back for Fantasmic on a separate night, you'll maximize your visit.
    • Animal Kingdom: Some think it's a park that can be done in a few hours. However, you'll miss what makes it more than a glorified zoo. Take the time to ponder the gorillas on the trails right off the Kilamanjaro Safari. Talk to the knowledgable Cast Members near the Oasis Exhibits or Discovery Island. And by all means don't miss Nemo, The Lion King or Flights of Wonder! Answer: one day if you leave any table service dining to the end of the day.
    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
