Hey there, Andrea!
A warm welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you've stopped by with a fantastic
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! It looks like your family is just a couple of short days away from your arrival at The Most Magical Place on Earth. The countdown's almost over! As you finalize your vacation plans and begin packing your suitcases, I'd be happy to help you understand
theme park entry requirements.
Andrea, I understand your family would like to opt out of the fingerprint scans used at the theme park main entrances.
Hakuna matata - it means "no worries!" This technology, known as "
Ticket Tag," helps to protect the vacation entitlements tied to Guest's accounts, but is not required for theme park entry. Instead, Guests may opt to show valid photo identification that matches the name on a theme park ticket. For little Mouseketeers that don't have photo identification, an accompanying adult Guest may show photo identification that matches the ticketed adult once they've scanned their MagicBands. (My friend and fellow panelist,
Amy, recently provided another Guest with some
excellent information about privacy at the Walt Disney World Resort as it relates to Ticket Tag, if you're interested in learning more!)
To opt out of Ticket Tag for your upcoming visit, be sure to stop by a
Guest Relations location before you head to the theme parks, Andrea. You'll want to complete this process prior to heading to the turnstiles in order to ensure a seamless theme park entry experience. After all, I'm sure your little ones will be ready to race to their favorite
attractions as soon as you're inside the theme park!
Andrea, I hope this information helps your family prepare for a thrill-filled vacation at The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any additional questions before or during your visit, you're always welcome to return to
planDisney anytime! We're here to help your family make magical Disney memories together.
Warm wishes,
Lauren
