We have the opportunity to dine at either Jika or Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge but not both during our stay. Our daughters are 12, 10 & 7. Which restaurant would be a better dining experience? We have the dining plan, would both restaurants qualify

    Hi Angela!

Boma - Flavors of Africa and Jiko - The Cooking Place are both fabulous restaurants in the Animal Kingdom Lodge; they are two of my favorite restaurants in all of Walt Disney World.  To be honest, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.  Whether I dine at one or the other depends on whether I'm traveling with my children.  If my children are with us, we eat at Boma.  If it is just my wife and me then we eat at Jiko, mostly because I think the atmosphere is more romantic in Jiko.

I don't know your family or what kind of food you would like, but I would recommend Boma over Jiko.  First Jiko is a Disney Signature Dining Experience, which means it will require 2 Table Service credits on the Dining Plan.  Second, based on my children, I think your children will appreciate all of the different options available at the buffet in Boma.

As I said, both are fabulous.  If you want to look at the menus for both, then I suggest visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  They do a fantastic job keeping their menus up to date.

    Have a magical vacation!
