Hi Nichole,
I’ve had a chance to stay in a Family Suite at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and at
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. The answer about which one you should pick really depends on how you like to spend your days at Walt Disney World Resort. If you’re a big party and you’ll need to have two bathrooms for everyone to be able to get ready for a day of fun, then a Family Suite is definitely worth the extra cost. Plus, my family likes to eat breakfast in our hotel room every morning, and having access to a kitchenette in the Family Suites makes them ideal for us.
I’d go with Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort if you don’t plan to cook, as there are more plentiful and varied dining options there. Plus, while I love the bright and colourful theming at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, if you’re looking for a place that is a bit more sophisticated, Coronado would be a better bet. It also has more “grown up” amenities, such as a health club, and several quiet pools throughout the Resort’s beautiful grounds.
Finally, please bear in mind that Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is going through some refurbishments, which unfortunately includes the closure of the Dig Site Pool. If having a fun pool is important to you, then you’ll definitely want to opt for being near the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
I hope my answer has helped you choose which Walt Disney World Resort hotel is right for your family during your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
