What's your opinion on a stroller for our DD5? Staying @ Poly in July. Should we bring our lightweight umbrella Maclaren Volo from home, rent a Disney stroller, or rent a jogger from an outside source? DD5 is tall for her age. Thx Moms & Dads!

    Hi Kari,

I'm happy to tackle this question because my husband and I found ourselves facing this exact quandary when we took our then five-year-old son for his first trip to Walt Disney World.  He, too, was tall for his age and used the stroller very little under normal circumstances.  We weren't sure we wanted to be bothered traveling on a plane even with a lightweight umbrella stroller, but in retrospect we were so very glad we took it with us.  People underestimate how much walking you will do at Walt Disney World even if you are staying at a luxurious and conveniently located resort like Disney's Polynesian Resort.  My guess is that your daughter will appreciate having a place to rest on those hot July days as you move from place to place.  I think you'll also find you will put the stroller to good use in the airport (if you are flying), in the parking lots (if you are driving), at Downtown Disney, or wherever you might travel at Walt Disney World.  Take your lightweight Maclaren stroller and save yourself the rental fees.  That would be my best advice.

Have a magical trip with your family!
