Welcome back to planDisney, Kelly!
I have so many fond memories of ‘Ohana, Garden Grill Restaurant, and the
classic Chef Mickey’s. But there are quite a few family-style and buffet-style options that you won’t want to miss during your next visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Let’s get into it, shall we?
All-You-Care-To-Enjoy dining experiences come in two forms at Walt Disney World Resort. Some are buffet-style like at Chef Mickey’s, while others are family-style like at ‘Ohana (what I’d give to eat those yummy Stitch waffles right now).
Before I share my favorites that host characters, I’ll tell you about some of my top All-You-Care-To-Enjoy picks that don’t have them. Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom Park serves up family-style platters that remind me of a hearty Thanksgiving meal. Everything is seasoned to perfection and the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is something that you’ll never forget. My family also enjoys the Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There, you’ll shrink to the size of one of Andy’s toys and experience fun, interactive elements while chowing down on multiple courses of traditional barbecue.
My all-time favorite character dining experience is Garden Grill Restaurant, so I’m elated to hear that you’ve already been there. Other character dining breakfast experiences that I love are Tusker House Restaurant (with Donald Duck and friends) at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and The Crystal Palace (with Winnie the Pooh and company). The Mickey churro waffles at The Crystal Palace are some of the best breakfast items on property. These are both buffet-style breakfasts.
The newly reopened
1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is so quaint. The idea of being visited by Disney wish-makers like Aladdin and Princess Tiana while dining on Strawberry Soup and twists on American cuisine makes for a special way to start your day.
AN EXTRA GEM: My most recent favorite character dining experience isn’t All-You-Care-To-Enjoy but the appetizers and desserts are served family-style. It’s the lovely
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. I’ve found that I can always ask a friendly Cast Member for seconds of the delicious appetizers. And what’s not to love about dining with Snow White, The Queen, Dopey, and Grumpy?
Kelly, thank you for letting me talk your Mickey ear off about my favorite thing: food at Walt Disney World. If you have additional questions about your upcoming adventure,
give us a holler here at planDisney. Any of the panelists will be more than happy to share their suggestions with you.
Magic always,
LeAndra
