Hiya, Patty! Welcome to planDisney! A fall trip to the Happiest Place on Earth is such a great time to visit! There is just some extra magical buzz in the air between September and December when the holidays are in full swing at the Disneyland Resort from seasonal treats to special overlays on some favorite attractions, and ... my personal favorite ... Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween and holiday best!
I can see that you are arriving just after the
Halloween Time celebrations wrap up and just before the
very merry holidays kick into full gear. That's not to say that there won't be any festiveness in the air, but you will be between holidays which could make for a fun mix!
Halloween Time and the
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party will have their final hoorah on Halloween itself, October 31st. We don't quite have details on when the holly jolly of the holidays will kick off, but last year it was November 12, 2021. I would keep your eyes peeled to the
Disney Parks Blog or even give
@DISNEYLAND and
@DISNEYPARKS a follow on Instagram where the latest news has been dropping first!
Even if your trip truly falls between these two celebrations, there will be so much holiday magic to enjoy.
Haunted Mansion Holiday is a treat for both seasons when Jack Skellington and his Nightmare Before Christmas Crew take over the iconic Haunted Mansion. If you haven't experienced this one before, you are in for a treat! This is a must-see for me during the holidays, particularly the gingerbread house in the ballroom ... which you might smell before you even see it! This overlay will run through both the Halloween and Christmas seasons, so you will be sure not to miss it during your visit!
Plaza Point just at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. is festive all year-round with holiday decor, ornaments, housewares, and more! All Christmas, all year long!
When it comes to
theme park hours, those are typically released about six weeks ahead of time. As of today, I can see through mid-August, so I would set your calendar for mid-September to start checking the Disneyland Resort website for those November hours to pop up! I can give you a little insight into last year's calendar. While not a guarantee that this will repeat, I think sometimes it's helpful in the early days of planning. Last year, Disneyland Park was open from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. November 1-4 with expanded hours over the weekend November 5 - 7, opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 11 p.m. There was a similar pattern for Disney California Adventure Park which was open 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. November 1 -4 with expanded weekend hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. November 5 - 7.
I hope this was helpful in your planning, Patty! The one good that may arise is that in-between holiday weeks could see fewer Guests in the parks! Not a promise, but definitely a perk! If you have any more questions about your planning, please come back to see us here at

Magic awaits!
