    Is there an open ceremony at AK? Can you briefly explain how is it or what characters? Wondering if it's worth to wake two 2 years old up earlier. Won't go to MK opening since there's EMH and clashing with dining plans. Not worth to run betw parks. Thx

    Jacqueline, let the little one snooze. Your two year old needs to be well rested to handle the excitement of seeing giraffes, elephants, and zebras on Kilimanjaro Safaris and digging for dinosaur bones in the Boneyard.

    Currently Disney' Animal Kingdom does not have an opening or rope drop ceremony. On our last visit I thought we had simply missed the flatbed truck with animal stripes carrying Mickey and friends that traditionally opened the park. I spoke with a Cast Member who said presently there is no opening ceremony.
